OWWA Caravan 2025 Brings OFW Health Services Abroad

OWWA Caravan 2025 strengthened OFW health services abroad through a partnership between LoveYourself, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), and Pia Wurtzbach. The caravan reached Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Riyadh and Al Khobar in Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Rome, and Hong Kong.

This initiative highlights a shared commitment to ensuring that Filipinos overseas have access to inclusive, stigma-free healthcare and accurate health information. By bringing services closer to OFWs, the OWWA Caravan addressed barriers such as distance, limited access, and fear of discrimination.

Tailored Health Services Across Different Countries

The OWWA Caravan adapted its services to the legal and cultural contexts of each location. In Saudi Arabia, Dubai, and Rome, the caravan highlighted Embrace Kabayan telehealth services. These allowed OFWs to access general health check-ups, counseling, referrals, and ongoing support through digital platforms.

In Hong Kong, services were delivered on Philippine soil through the Philippine Consulate General. These included HIV testing, counseling, sexual health education, and mental health support. As a result, OFWs received direct care in a safe and culturally sensitive environment.

This flexible approach ensured continuity of care while respecting local regulations and community needs.

Advocacy and Community Engagement With Pia Wurtzbach

Pia Wurtzbach played a key role in amplifying the reach of OWWA Caravan 2025. Through talks, interactive sessions, and media engagements, she encouraged OFWs to prioritize their health and well-being.

Her involvement helped normalize conversations around HIV, mental health, and sexual health. Because of this, more OFWs felt empowered to seek information, testing, and support without fear or shame.

Strengthening Health Access for Filipinos Overseas

By combining on-site services and digital pathways, LoveYourself and OWWA strengthened access to OFW health services abroad. The caravan supported awareness, prevention, and early intervention, helping participants take charge of their health wherever they are.

Moreover, the initiative reinforced trust between OFWs and health providers. It demonstrated that healthcare can be accessible, respectful, and responsive even outside the Philippines.

Supporting OFWs Wherever They Are

The OWWA Caravan reflects LoveYourself’s broader mission to support Filipino communities worldwide. Through education, prevention, and community engagement, the initiative shows the impact of collaboration between government agencies, community organizations, and advocates like Pia Wurtzbach.

Overseas Filipino Workers may learn more about LoveYourself’s health programs and upcoming OWWA Caravan activities through official platforms. Staying informed helps ensure that care and support remain within reach.
