The study is being conducted at LoveYourself Anglo and is sponsored by global pharmaceutical company Merck & Co., known internationally as MSD.
EXPrESSIVE-11 is designed to assess the safety and effectiveness of an investigational once-monthly oral pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) option and compares it to the current daily oral PrEP regimen, a widely used preventive measure against HIV infection.
Exploring a More Convenient HIV Prevention Option
Pre-exposure prophylaxis, commonly known as PrEP, now ranks as one of the most effective biomedical tools for preventing HIV transmission among HIV-negative individuals who may be at risk of exposure. When people take daily oral PrEP consistently, they significantly reduce the likelihood of acquiring HIV.
