Job Description
The Medical Doctor/Physician will support the duty station in providing gender affirmative care, s/he will:
- Perform tasks observing the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and professional accountability
- Conducts trauma informed physical examinations to determine a patient’s general physical condition.
- Maintains clinical competency, as demonstrated in providing and directing client care
- Orders and executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images. Administers or prescribes treatments and drugs, including but not limited to ART, PrEP, PEP, Transgender Health, and related treatments/programs.
- Provides education to clients and personal support systems in areas such as disease management, safer sex, adherence, etc.
- Documents services performed for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Communicate with other staff members concerning client care issues and function as a part of the primary care team using evidence-informed guidelines.
- Maintains compliance with DOH, PhilHealth, and other regulatory agencies’ statutes and standards
- Complies with safety standards and infection control.
- Refers clients to medical specialists or other practitioners for necessary specialized treatment, follows client results, and completes necessary documentation.
- Assists in educational programs for staff and participates in team meetings.
- Promotes teamwork, good interpersonal relations, and communication among staff and volunteers
- Aligns with and champions gender affirmative culture, core principles, and programs.
- Participates in continuing medical education and training to provide evidence-based, up-to-date care for patients.
