Twenty-one new volunteers from Batch Espada were welcomed to the LoveYourself family on February 16, 2020, at LoveYourself White House, in Cebu City.
The LoveYourself, Inc., a community-based non-profit primary health care facility for people living with HIV (PLHIV), appeals for the support of the government for the continued and uninterrupted access of PLHIV to anti-retroviral (ARV) drugs.
LoveYourself, Inc. once again co-presented GLAMM: (Gays, Lesbians, And Many More), a phenomenal LGBTQ+ party. GLAMM is going for its third run this Valentine’s Day on February 14, 2020, at Cove Manila in Okada Manila. Cove Manila is the biggest indoor beach club and night club in Southeast Asia that continuously supporting the advocacies of LoveYourself for HIV awareness and inclusivity.
HIV cases in the country are increasing. What aggravates the situation is the lack of awareness, knowledge, and education of people across different ages, SOGIEs, socioeconomic statuses, religions, education, and professions. This already unfortunate situation has worsened by misinformation, stigmatization, and discrimination, hindering people from accessing free and available HIV services in the country. Thankfully, the Philippine Educational Theater Association’s (PETA) latest offering, Under My Skin, debunked most of these misconceptions, encouraging the people to take charge of their sexual health.
As an organization who serves, The LoveYourself, Inc. quickly initiated a ‘bayanihan’ drive, using its community centers as a drop in center for the donations. Alvin Joseph ‘AJ’ Ramirez, a nurse at Hero by LoveYourself, spearheaded the donation drive of the organization. AJ, who lives in the nearby province of Cavite, had a first-hand experience of the impact of the said volcanic activity.

Dubbed as Cebu’s “epic” annual festival by Lonely Planet, Sinulog Festival is the Feast of Santo Niño (the Christ Child) which draws devotees, and both local and international tourists. It is celebrated every third Sunday of January and is widely known for its colorful procession and street parade bearing the image of Santo Niño. LoveYourself Cebu partook in the festivities by promoting its advocacy.
With the aid of LoveYourself, The Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) in its 52nd Theater Season responds to the ongoing HIV epidemic in the Philippines by launching the #ActingOnHIV campaign with Rody Vera’s anthology drama Under My Skin, directed by Melvin Lee, as the frontliner. Together with LoveYourself, its long-time advocacy partner, The Red Whistle, also support this movement in the theater community.
