Blood is the lifeline that flows through the body. It nourishes and transports waste products to appropriate filtering organs. In the past year, there have been reports of increased donated units that have tested reactive for HIV after screening consistent with the rise of HIV infections in the Philippines. New Cases of HIV in the Philippines Hit Record High with 1,098 in May 2017

An alarming increase of HIV cases, with now an average of 35 per day, has been reported to the HIV/AIDS & ART Registry of the Philippines (HARP) in May 2017. This is 48 percent higher compared with same time last year and is the highest recorded number of cases since 1984.
