MANDALUYONG CITY – Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach volunteers to help in the COVID-19 vaccination of LoveYourself, Inc., and Mandaluyong City on Monday, May 17, 2021.

Wurtzbach, a LoveYourself ambassador for HIV awareness and mental health, assists LoveYourself volunteer nurses, administering the COVID-19 vaccine for frontline workers and individuals with comorbidities. The vaccination takes place at the Eulogio Rodriguez Integrated School in Hagdan Bato-Itaas, Mandaluyong City. According to Wurtzbach, these vaccination efforts are part of LoveYourself’s honoring and protecting frontline workers in the HIV advocacy as the world celebrates the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial 2021.

This event is timely and relevant as the country was again reported to have the fastest-growing HIV epidemic in Asia-Pacific.

“We need to beat the twin pandemic by making our HIV front-liners protected against COVID-19, and vaccination is an option we need to take as we continue to deliver our services for our respective communities,” Wurtzbach said.

The beauty queen also urged the public to get vaccinated whenever there’s an opportunity given by the government because the people’s health and safety are essential in this new normal situation.

“Get vaccinated because you matter,” she expressed.

The vaccination efforts of LoveYourself and Mandaluyong City targets 3,000 frontline workers and people with comorbidities from May 17-21, 2021. Target individuals can register on this link: http://bit.ly/COVID19vaccineforCLIENTS.
