Leading HIV Advocacy Group offering Free HIV Test
The media regularly shares data about HIV incidence in the country. However, they seldom share the faces and stories behind the numbers. This is exactly why Mga Batang Poz, a digital advocacy series on iWant, is a welcome narrative in mainstream media that offers fresh yet relatable storylines among the youth. The show is directed by Chris Martinez adapted from a young adult novel written by Segundo Matias Jr.
In the 1980s, women in the Philippines had a pivotal turn in society. Countless women joined in the movement to make the Philippines a more inclusive country among the many rallies against the administration at the time.
LoveYourself marched together with the 70 thousand people who attended the Metro Manila Pride March on June 29, 2019 at the Marikina Sports Center. Among the organizations supporting the march, LoveYourself and its volunteers walked for equal opportunity for not only LGBTQ+ community, but for people living with HIV as well. Together we made a grand spectacle to invite everyone who witnessed the march to be #PartOfOurWorld in the HIV advocacy.
Women’s month is a celebration of women’s success and contribution to our society. Inclusion has been a long standing issue in the movement towards equality, and for LGBTQIA+ women it is a bigger struggle to remain visible. During dictatorship in the 1980’s, the lesbian community struggled to be visible to the public due to subsumption of their rights between women’s rights that were previously heterosexual in nature and gay movement that previously regarded them as female version of homosexual men. It is already 2019 and the same struggles can be seen happening in the trans community.
SOGIE and LGBT are language tools that may still continue to evolve, used to better capture the experience of human diversity. Due to its complexity, confusion in understanding sexuality is inevitable.

Filipino LGBT youth today may not be aware of the history of a community where they belong. Within the Philippines’ conservative culture, the community’s roots have long been ignored by many. As such, let us take a quick look at the history of the LGBT movement in the Philippines, from its indigenous conceptualization to today’s advocacy for the anti-discrimination bill.
It doesn’t matter if you’re blue, red, green, pink, yellow or any color, shade and hues you might think of.
